根据洛杉矶警方介绍，8月29日（周二）下午，警方接到报警后对惠蒂尔市（Whittier）古德休街（Goodhue St）15300
号街区一栋房屋进行调查发现，一名83岁的老人倒在地上已经去世，他身上有明显的刀伤。

经过调查发现，老人名叫罗兰·亚历山大 (Rolland Alexander)，死亡时间大约是前一天下午。
通过调取附近监控可以发现，老人是被人谋杀的。洛杉矶县警长罗伯特·卢纳（Robert
Luna）表示，嫌犯通过一扇未上锁的门进入屋内。
